Phil Nagle Focused on Achieving Guinness Cycling World Record

Phil is in good spirits and seems very focused on completing this great challenge. He recently posted on twitter “I have a cap gun now to scare off any dogs, but I have too much fun shooting it for no reason, haha.”

Phil is in his 26th state (Oklahoma) thus far and is shooting to acquire his 27th today (Friday August 14, 2009). We’ve been in communication with him and he tells us “Still feeling strong!”

48 in 48 update 16 states!!!

Student of the University of Cincinnati, Phil Nagle has begun a fundraiser of sorts to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma, by obtaining sponsors for him to cycle around all 48 states in the continental united states, in just 48 days. He has been at it now for 15 days and just reached his 16th state, Tennessee. I speak with the rest of his team on a daily basis, and I can tell you they are tired, but spirits remain high!
In 16 days Phil has gone through the Appalachians from Pennsylvania to New York and back over them from West Virginia to Kentucky reaching a peak of approx. 4,400 ft! With some aggravating rain and even a dog or two to run him off course, he has fallen a day behind in his trek to cycle 48 states in 48 days. Phil and his team members, Mehrtash Mostofi, Andrew O’dom, and Phil’s father Ralph continue to look ahead and keep a positive, better yet determined, outlook on the trip.

As a sponsor, we continue to stay in contact with Phil and his team and be sure to offer our support and encouragement in any way we can. We even have representatives across the country who try to get the timing right to meet with Phil when he stops for lunch!
